THIS YEAR IN REVIEW │ A Look Back at 2014! │ Newborn Photography
2014 has been a tough but an amazing year! When I started this amazing journey in 2013, I never knew where it would lead. In the time spent the last 12 months , I have invested a huge amount of my waking hours into photography. In this time, I have met so many wonderful families and learnt so much, and found a new sense of purpose and fulfilment in my life. I can honestly say that 2014 has been one of the best years of my life so far, and I am so excited to see what 2015 holds in store! I have so much more learning and growing to do and have my friends and family along with me on this journey. I look forward to every day of it.
In a way it is the past that drives me forward, since I became a mother time seems to run away and each day i feel a little sadness because my child is another day older. It’s been said so often that it’s a cliché, and yet it is true, a photograph freezes those special moments. Images, still and moving, are the only memories we have to show and share with our loved ones. I don’t know about you, but I have a hard time remembering many of the moments I most want to hold on to. The photographs have become my memories, and therefore they are more precious than any other material possession I could possibly desire. I know that many other parents feel the same way about their family photographs. To be able to document growing families in beautiful images is something for which I am profoundly grateful. So I want to express that gratefulness to some very special groups of people – not to sound like I am a winner at the Oscar awards! :)
First, I want to thank my clients from this past year — I hope that I was able to do justice to your precious family memories and that you have gained something that you will continue to enjoy and cherish as the years go by. It always makes me feel happy to see happiness in the eyes of others and to help document your special moments, it’s one of the best feelings to have!
I am so grateful to all my friends and family, both near and far, who have supported and encouraged me throughout this journey. Your belief in me has seen me through moments of doubt and uncertainty. I appreciate all your kind words and support through this past year.
Finally, a huge thanks to my amazing other half and my little Jacob for adapting and being so accommodating to my life’s work. They are my muses, my reason for getting up in the morning, even though its soooo hard to wake up!
Here is a look back at 2014 through my lens for all my clients this year. Enjoy and have a Happy New Year, everyone!
